"Sorry" lyrics

"Sorry"

Tongue-tied, tryin' to give your reasons
Spit it out, say it like you mean it
Forgiveness broken into pieces
Hey now, sorry won't turn back time

No, no, no
No, no, no, no
Sorry won't turn back time
No, no, no
No, no, no, no
Sorry won't turn back time

Heartbeat beaten 'till we flatlined
Crash, burn, speeding through the stop signs
No more fear, running from a past life
Hey now, sorry won't turn back time

No, no, no
No, no, no, no
Oh, sorry won't turn back time
No, no, no
No, no, no, no

I'm not giving into you
'Cause the truth still hurts
Lost the man I used to know
When the truth came out
Now where did it go?
No, I don't need you anymore
Don't tell me I'm insane
I'm not coming back to you
'Cause the truth came out of the liar's grave

No, no, no
No, no, no, no
Oh, sorry won't turn back time
No, no, no
No, no, no, no
Sorry won't turn back time
No, no, no
No, no, no, no
Sorry won't turn back time
No, no, no
No, no, no, no, no, no
Sorry won't turn back time

Excuses, excuses
Can't you tell they're useless
Lies are poison, everybody loses

Oh
The truth still hurts, no, no, no
Sorry won't turn back time
You're sorry, you're sorry, you're sorry
No, no, no, no, no, no (Sorry won't turn back time)

Sorry won't turn back time

Bonnie Anderson told Entertainment-Focus.com the following about "Sorry", "The song was written three years ago, inspired by the feelings of strength and resilience. At the time, I was writing a lot about my relationship, the broken times and the good times. 'Sorry' was the product of a clear-mind that the song-writing process gave me."
"Sorry" is featured in the Australian TV show "Neighbors", where Bonnie Anderson plays Bea Nilssen. Nilssen wrote this song to reflect on her relationship with Finn Kelly, who left her hurt and heart-broken. Anderson explained, "Writing the song was a way for her to overcome these emotions and move forward from that dark time."
