"Kindness Is A Weapon" lyrics

When someone tries to smite you
Turn the other cheek and walk away
And if they're spreading lies to spite you
Don't listen to a word they have to say
Friend or foe, we never know
Until they show, their colour true
For pity's sake, real or fake
Make or break a promise or two
If they're trying to hurt or harm you
Don't let their threats disarm you

Kindness kindness is a weapon
Sing now, sing now, sing it with me
Kindness kindness is a weapon
Sing now, sing now, sing it for me, yeh, yeh

There are those that perform their good deeds
For the poses and the promenades
With bleeding hearts worn on their shirt sleeves
For the plaudits and the accolades
Say it ain't so, Holy Joe
It's all for show, done for gain
They shout aloud, love a crowd
Stand so proud but as guilty as Cain
Being kind doesn't need an audience
If it's the right thing to do, for you

Kindness kindness is a weapon
Sing now, sing now, sing it with me
Kindness kindness is a weapon
Sing now, sing now, sing it for me, come on

The very best defence to disarm an enemy
When they come at you with their chosen weapon is be-kind
Be-kind

Kindness kindness is a weapon
Sing now, sing now, sing it with me
Kindness kindness is a weapon
Sing now, sing now, sing it for me, yeh, yeh
