"Take On Me" lyrics
"Take On Me"
Talking away
I don't know what I'm to say
I'll say it anyway
Today is another day to find you
Shying away
I'll be coming for your love. OK?
Take on me (take on me)
Take me on (take on me)
I'll be gone
In a day or two
So needless to say
Of odds and ends
But I'll be stumbling away
Slowly learning that life is OK.
Say after me,
"It's no better to be safe than sorry."
Take on me (take on me)
Take me on (take on me)
I'll be gone
In a day or two
Oh, things that you say. Yeah.
Is it life or just to play my worries away?
You're all the things I've got to remember
You're shying away
I'll be coming for you anyway
Take on me (take on me)
Take me on (take on me)
I'll be gone
In a day
Take on me (take on me)
Take me on (take on me)
I'll be gone
In a day
Take on me (take on me)
Take me on (take on me)

The original version of this song was recorded in 1984, the second version in 1985 for the album "Hunting High and Low". "Take On Me" evolved from the early demo called "The Juicy Fruit Song" written by Pål Waaktaar and Magne Furuholmen before A-ha was formed.
The single flopped twice: the first release in the UK charted only at the number 137, the second re-release in the country had no success again. Warner Bros. Records released the song for the third time one month after the music video had been published, and it finally went to Billboard Hot 100.
The second
music video for "Take On Me" won six awards at 1986 MTV Video Music Awards. It used the rotoscoping technic, and 3000 frames were drawn which took 16 weeks to complete.
