Fafnir was one of the sons of Hreidmar. He and his brother Regin killed their father, and Fafnir stole the treasure, the Andvari's ring being among them. The ring turned him into a dragon. That dragon was later killed by Sigurd (son of Sigmund) who bathed in the dragon's blood to become invincible.
