"Kaleb's Story" lyrics

There's about nine months ago we sat down after an event we did. We didn't have to drive to the next city. So we sat down and then heard a story about a little boy from his mother, a little boy named Kaleb who was 2 years old. And his mom said he was just a regular two-year-old playing around. But she noticed like inconsistencies in his health. She noticed he'd just not feel well some days. So she decided to take her little two-year-old boy to the doctor, thinking he'd need a Z pack or a shot or something, you know. And she said she will never forget after the doctors ran some tests on him, their faces as they came around the corner because she was like "This can't be a cold. They wouldn't be looking at me like that if this were just a cold". And she was right
They said, "We are so sorry that we have to tell you this, but the inconsistencies in your son's health that you've noticed are because he has something called 'AML leukemia' and your son has a 10 chance to live through this." And she said she just sat there in shock because that was not at all in any—in any realm of what she thought she was going to hear. They immediately proceeded to go into a year and a half of extensive treatment on this little boy. Just the most aggressive treatment you can do on an adult. They were doing on this little boy because of the kind of leukemia this was. I think I brought a picture of him. She was telling us so resolved though she was talking to us and telling us the story and she had so much faith in her eyes. She was telling us how horrible of an experience this was
They also intubated him for a surgery and they injured his vocal cords. And they then said, "If he lives, he's actually never going to be able to talk now because of the injury." He just—But we had to get this treatment done." It's just layer after layer. But her resolve as she was talking to me was so faith-filled. I was thinking about while she was telling me this story how many times I feel like I'm at my 10, emotionally, spiritually, financially, health-wise. I just feel crazy. And I don't have the faith that this woman had while she was talking to me
She said there was not one moment where she did not doubt that the Lord was going to heal her little boy and that he would be a testimony of the healing power of God's, of, of God still, our miracle work in God still. And sure enough, I, I asked her like "So what—what happened to your son?" And she said, I told you, I did not doubt he was going to. I didn't doubt God was gonna heal him. And he healed my little boy. My little boy is alive and well
And I sat down once again with friends from this stage, and we—we wrote a song that we're gonna sing over you. And it is for anybody in this room who feels like they're at their 10% in whatever circumstance you're in, He is not finished with you yet. Philippians 1:6 is so real. You could be confident in this that He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it. Unit the day of Christ Jesus
