"Cloud 9" is the third single from Beach Bunny's debut studio album "Honeymoon". The song was premiered on January 10, 2021, accompanied by the
music video directed and animated by Margaret Bialis who commented on it,
"Cloud 9 is a whimsical, visual depiction of the fever dream that follows any new relationship. The goal of this music video was to incorporate soft pastels and sweet, innocent characters to convey the feelings of a gushy, romantic love song.".
Beach Bunny's singer and guitarist Lili Trifilio explained to Consequence of Sound, "'Cloud 9' is a proper love song about feeling like you're in the clouds when you're in love with someone. I wanted to end the album with a proper happy, no-strings-attached track which is where the idea sparked. It is also an ode to my little snail son Nigel who passed away last year but I will adore forever."
According to TheLineOfBestFit.com, Lili Trifilio shared, "I sought out to write a true, gushy, genuine love song when creating 'Cloud 9'. At the time I was at a questionable point in my relationship and I was reflecting on the last few years and how despite the ups and downs, love held us together. I hope that anyone who listens to this song can feel the love in the lyrics and give love a chance, as well as remember to always love themselves first and foremost."
