"Get Back" should have been the title of the entire album meaning for The Beatles the return to their raw sound of live performances. Eventually not only the album got the new name "Let It Be", but also the production completely changed the original idea of returning to the roots.

The song is credited to "The Beatles with Billy Preston". Billy Preston played piano and was invited to the recording session by George Harrison to ease the tension between The Beatles' members. It helped them focus despite personal conflicts.

The song was the first single by The Beatles to be released in true stereo in the USA.
