Chris Blackwell, Island Records boss, wrote about this song, "It had a very summery, carefree feel. When the album came out, several reviewers said he'd gone soft. But Bob was feeling great at that time and those songs reflected how he was feeling."

This song was dedicated to Bob Marley's wife, Rita.

Naomi Campbell, being just 7 years old, made her first public appearance in the music video for this song.

Rihanna covered this song during her first worldwide "Good Girl Gone Bad" tour in 2007–09. The cover is part of her DVD album "Good Girl Gone Bad Live".

John Grogan, author of the book "Marley and Me", said that he and his wife Jenny had an argument about how to name their dog. When during the argument Jenny walked to the tape deck and turned it on this song started to play which helped them decide.
