This is the third song released from "Dream Girl". Earlier the makers of the film have revealed "Radhe Radhe" and "Dil Ka Telephone". "Dream Girl" is a recreation of the popular folk Marathi song with the same title.

Ayushmann Khurrana posted the following message on his Twitter account on the 27th of August 2019: "Aala re Aala! Actor and producer Riteish Deshmukh makes a special appearance in the music video for "Dhagala Lagali": he asks Ayushmann Khurrana at the beginning of the song whether they should go for a Marathi song instead of the traditional Punjabi song. Riteish told Mumbai Mirror, "'Dhagala' is an all-time favourite dance number. The original featured the legendary Dada Kondke, so being a part of this song was motivation enough. Also, Ayushmann and Nushrat are fantastic actors and dancers, and having admired their work, I was happy to share the screen with them."
