"You Never Can Tell" was also known as "C'est La Vie" or "Teenage Wedding", as it tells a story of a couple which married at the early age and was able to keep their love alive.

Emmylou Harris covered this song in 1977. It was titled "(You Never Can Tell) C'est La Vie" using the line "c'est la vie" repeated in the song. Harris' version became a top-ten country hit.

"You Never Can Tell" was prominently featured in the film "Pulp Fiction" (1994).
