As I said this song is about insecurities, and um
Did I say that enough? This song is about insecurities
When I was in middle school, I had this teacher
It was right at the beginning of when I started to sing in front of people
And I sang for my whole school, and I got off stage and I was on this high
And he was like "Hey, you did a great job, you sounded pretty good, like you should keep singing maybe. But you do this weird thing when you sing where you make these weird faces. Like, you look really weird when you sing"
I was like "Thank you for that very inspiring comment, teacher"
But what I will say about that is
I tried for like a month singing with very normal expressions, like modelling while I sing
It was the most boring month of my life, and I sang badly
So if you're a girl or you're a performer and people have whispered these sort of nonsense bullshit things in your ear while you're trying to be someone, just forget about it because it's so boring
It's so boring!
