The song was recorded in Los Angeles in the USA (MXM Studios) and in Stockholm, Sweden (Wolf Cousins Studios).

The song leaked on-line on the 24th of August 2015 and was released on the 18th of September 2015.

Demi Lovato stated after the album's release, "I feel very secure in who I am as an artist and a person. That's what I'm trying to portray."

The music video was directed by Robert Rodriguez. Actress Michelle Rodriguez made a guest appearances in it.

Robert Rodriguez recalled, "When I got the music and I heard it, it was so epic and cinematic. It sounded so much like a movie score. It had so much energy, I had to call her and find out how she came up with it. She said that she wanted to put more of a rock influence into some of the songs in the album; that was totally up my alley."
