"Jealous Type" is the lead single from Doja Cat's fifth studio album, "Vie". The song was premiered on August 21, 2025, accompanied by the music video directed by Boni Mata.

Doja Cat co-wrote this song with Jack Antonoff and Ari Starace (aka Y2K) with the latter two being the producers of it.

Speaking in an interview about her album "Vie", Doja Cat shared, "My favorite song on the album is 'Gorgeous' but 'Jealous Type' and 'Gorgeous' are grabbing each other's hair and beating the shit out of each other. So, I don't really know."

Doja Cat previewed a snippet of "Jealous Type" in the campaign's ad of Marc Jacobs whom she collaborated with in May of 2025. She first performed the song live at the 2025 Outside Lands festival on the 8th of August, 2025: she only sang part of the song at the festival and performed its rap verse at an afterparty.
