"Mine Is The Fury" is based on a Celtic belief that the Earth get periodically cleansed by water and fire. Druids believed that there is no "the end of the world" but rather "a new beginning" every time. That's why, according to the band, the song "...regards the events of obliteration and erasement – as tragic and drastic as they are – as something good, god-ordained and beautiful..."

The booklet liner notes explain that "The chorus is written like a 'prayer', an invitation to the waters and fires. The middle part changes perspective then and gives a voice to 'the gods'."
