"Faithfully" lyrics
"Faithfully"
Highway run
Into the midnight sun
Wheels go round and round
You're on my mind
Restless hearts
Sleep alone tonight
Sending all my love
Along the wire
They say that the road ain't no place to start a family
Right down the line it's been you and me
And lovin' a music man ain't always what it's supposed to be
Oh, girl, you stand by me
I'm forever yours
Faithfully
Circus life
Under the big top world
We all need the clowns
To make us smile
Through space and time
Always another show
Wondering where I am
I'm lost without you
And being apart ain't easy on this love affair
Two strangers learn to fall in love again
I get the joy of rediscovering you
Oh, girl, you stand by me
I'm forever yours
Faithfully
Faithfully
I'm still yours
I'm forever yours
Ever yours
Faithfully

This song is the second single off of the album "Frontiers". "Faithfully" was released on the 16th of April 1983.
The story of this song began during a Journey tour, when Jonathan Cain was watching the crew working on stage. He recalled to Bart Herbison of Nashville Songwriters Association International, "I thought, 'Man, you know, these guys are sacrificing this time with their families or loved ones to be out here with us.' And I started thinking, 'Wouldn't it be great if we had a song we could sing for all of us, because we're all missing our loved ones, and all making that road sacrifice?'"
The band's
first ever video was filmed for "Faithfully". It included footage of them of the road and on stage.
