"Already Gone" lyrics

"Already Gone"

Alone in the kitchen
Washing the dishes
And doing anything that I can do
Just to pass the time
Anything to take my mind
Off the woman over in the next room

Now she's been gone a week
Now she's back to get her things
Swears that she'll be out tonight
Maybe I should go
Give her some time on her own
Then I know I won't have to look her in the eyes

I can't help but wonder now just where it all went wrong
She's just leaving but she's already gone

We would sit out
Each night at sundown
On a porch swing until after dark
It was such a good time
Sometimes dance out in the street lights
I wanna forget her but I don't know where to start

Now the days seem so much longer
And the nights. They just drag on
She's just leaving but she's already gone

I'll go home tonight
And I'm gonna leave town for a while
Pack my bags and get out on the road
Still, I hope someday
That I'll find a better way
But for now I don't know how to live alone

I know that this all sounds like some old country song
She's just leaving but she's already gone
She's just leaving but she's already gone
