"Intro" lyrics

They counted the losses, but never the lessons
They watched the storms, but never seemed to notice the roots growin' underneath
You know, it's funny to me how people can decide your ending
Before you've even had a chance to write your beginning
They'll tell you you're finished, that you missed your moment
That you've got nothing left to say
I've been laughed at, my whole imaging been stolen
And I've been made to feel that my true self wasn't enough
But here's what they never understand
See, as an outlier, you don't wait for someone else to water your dreams
You learn to water yourself
With every tear, every setback, every closed door, every lonely night
You pour a little more into who you're becoming
And one day, what they thought was buried, it blooms
This isn't about proving they, them, or anybody wrong
It's finally choosing to say, "Fuck y'all, this one's for me"
The greatest comeback isn't revenge, it's growth

So welcome to the first chapter, I'ma need you to fill your cups up and enjoy the ride
It's Jesus & Whiskey time
