"Talking To Myself" lyrics
"Talking To Myself"
Tell me what I've gotta do
There's no getting through to you
The lights are on but nobody's home (nobody's home)
You say I can't understand
But you're not giving me a chance
When you leave me, where do you go? (where do you go?)
All the walls that you keep building
All this time that I spent chasing
All the ways that I keep losing you
And the truth is, you turn into someone else
You keep running like the sky is falling
I can whisper, I can yell
But I know, yeah I know, yeah I know
I'm just talking to myself
Talking to myself
Talking to myself
But I know, yeah I know, yeah I know
I'm just talking to myself
I admit I made mistakes
But yours might cost you everything
Can't you hear me calling you home? (calling you home)
Oh, all the walls that you keep building
All this time that I spent chasing
All the ways that I keep losing you
And the truth is, you turn into someone else
You keep running like the sky is falling
I can whisper, I can yell
But I know, yeah I know, yeah I know
I'm just talking to myself
Talking to myself
Talking to myself
Yeah I know, yeah I know, yeah I know
I'm just talking to myself
All the walls that you keep building
All this time that I spent chasing
All the ways that I keep losing you
And the truth is, you turn into someone else
You keep running like the sky is falling
I can whisper, I can yell
But I know, yeah I know, yeah I know
I'm just talking to myself
I'm talking to myself
I'm talking to myself
Yeah I know, yeah I know, yeah I know
Talking to myself

This song was first premiered at the Maximus Festival in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on the 6th of May 2017.
This song is the second single from their seventh studio album. It is Chester Bennington's first posthumously released single.
The song tells a story from the Chester Bennington's wife's point of view, when she watches him drinking too much alcohol and doing drugs. Chester explained in an interview, "Then it got to the point where my wife said to me about seven months after we got together, she goes, 'I don't think there's been a day since I've known you that you haven't drank.'"
Chester Bennington described his alcohol and drug abuse in an interview with TeamRock, saying, "I dropped so much acid I'm surprised I can still speak! I'd smoke a bunch of crack, do a bit of meth and just sit there and freak out. Then I'd smoke opium to come down. I weighed 110 pounds."
The
music video was released just several hours before Chester Bennington, the band's lead vocalist, was confirmed dead after committing suicide on the 20th of July 2017.
Music critics had mixed opinions about this song. Ian Gittins of The Guardian called it "a sleek Justin Bieber-style pop-R&B nugget" whilst Jon Pareles of The New York Times described it as "a pounding plaint about loneliness, alienation and 'all the walls that you keep building.'"

Chevelle - "Send The Pain Below" I liked having hurt,
So send the pain below where I need it,
You used to beg me to take care of things,
And smile at the thought of me failing.
But long before, having hurt,
I'd send the pain...
3 Doors Down - "When I'm Gone" There's another world inside of me that you may never see
There's secrets in this life that I can't hide
But somewhere in this darkness
There's a light that I can't find
Well maybe it's too far away,...
Black Veil Brides - "In The End" In the end
As you fade into the night (oh whoa oh oh)
Who will tell the story of your life?
In the end
As my soul's laid to rest
What is left of my body
Or am I just a shell?
And I have fought
And...
Falling In Reverse - "Coming Home" Tell me who you are
Your father has forsaken you
Left you with those scars
My hope is that you'll make it through
Hate must never win
Even when we're worlds apart
Your love is not a sin

Mike Shinoda - "Can't Hear You Now" You can call till your voice is running out
But I can't hear you now
I can't hear you now
I'm somewhere far away where you can't bring me down
So I can't hear you now
I can't hear you now
Yeah,...
