"Judgement Day" lyrics

"Judgement Day"

The bishop from the pulpit spoke, words of fire that rose like smoke
Brothers, love has no walls or borders
With our bodies we must take a stand for the law of God, not of man
Now it's time to get our affairs in order

Me, I'm not prepared for blood and soil, I'm just a boy with holy oil
Only one year behind the altar
My shaking hands betrayed my fear
As he raised his crosier in the air and issued a call for new martyrs

I took a sacred vow Jesus are you with me now?
Gunshots, broken glass, and screaming
Oh God, I am too young to die, but I will look you in the eye
I'll trust in what Jesus will say on Judgement Day

Jesus was a refugee, an immigrant, a man of peace
A wanderer with no home of his own
He wrapped his arms around lost sheep to shield them from the enemy
And I cannot let my neighbor stand alone

I took a sacred vow Jesus are you with me now?
Gunshots, flashing lights, and screaming
Oh God, I am too young to die, but I will look you in the eye
I'll trust in what Jesus will say on Judgement Day
