"Prayed For You" is the lead single by Matt Stell off of his debut EP. He told ABC Radio, "In terms of the religious component of that, I owe a big debt of gratitude to everyone around me and a higher power because the cards have fallen in my favor in such a way that I don't deserve it at all."

Matt Stell co-wrote and co-produced this song with Ash Bowers. Allison Veltz was the thirds co-writer. Stell told PopCulture.com, "The song is about a relationship, but it's also about persevering, in anything, whether it's school, work, family, just hanging in there long enough to allow good things to happen."
