"Crazy" lyrics
"Crazy"
(originally by Willie Nelson)
Crazy
I'm crazy for feeling so lonely
I'm crazy
Crazy for feeling so blue
I knew
You'd love me as long as you wanted
And then some day
You'd leave me for somebody new
Worry
Why do I let myself worry?
Wondering
What in the world did I do?
Oh, crazy
For thinking that my love could hold you
I'm crazy for trying
And crazy for crying
And I'm crazy for loving you
Crazy
For thinking that my love could hold you
I'm crazy for trying
And crazy for crying
And I'm crazy for loving you
Writer(s): Willie Nelson
Willie Nelson originally wrote the song for country singer Billy Walker who turned it down because it was "a girl's song".
"Crazy" was a follow-up to Patsy Cline's previous big hit
"I Fall to Pieces" (1961). Her version was a number-two country hit in 1962.
Barbara Mandrell remembers Patsy Cline introducing the song live in concert by saying,
"All my recent hits have come true in my life. I had a hit out called 'Tra-La-La Triangle' and people thought about me and Gerald and Charlie. I had another hit out called 'I Fall to Pieces' and I was in a car wreck. Now I'm really worried because I have a new hit single out and it's called 'Crazy'."
