"Just Breathe" is the second single from the band's ninth studio album. The song was released on the 31st of October 2009.

Eddie Vedder explained to Billboard magazine, "It was a shorter song, and then I wrote a bridge to it while the other guys were working on something else." He also added, "It was like our own little Brill Building at the warehouse. I ran in and wrote the bridge, which became the chorus, because Brendan O'Brien heard it that way."

Willie Nelson made a cover of this song for his album "Heroes" (2012) and released it as a promotional single.

This song became the band's first "Platinum"-certified song. It was certified in digital sales by the RIAA on the 22nd of January 2014.
