"Hey, Hey, Rise Up!" was premiered on April 8, 2022 and it is the first new song recorded and released by Pink Floyd in 28 years.
The song samples the vocals of Andriy Khlyvnyuk singing on the front lines in Kyiv, Ukraine against the Russian invasion. He and his band Boombox (Бумбокс) previously performed with David Gilmour in 2015.
The lyrics used in the song are from the Ukrainian patriotic march "Oh, the Red Viburnum in the Meadow".
