This song was one of the five demo songs recorded by the band in De Lane Lea Studios. The demo attracted attention of Chrysalis Records only.
Many critics said about Queen's early years that the band played psychedelic rock because of the long instrumental break on this song played by Brian May on his Red Special guitar with some effects.
These lyrics contain a reference to Matthew 8:1-4 from the Bible, where Jesus heals a man afflicted by leprosy. But the line "rang his bell" is not correct because the practice of wearing a bell by lepers didn't exist in Jesus' times and was adopted only in Medieval Europe.
