"Orchard Of One" lyrics

"Orchard Of One"

I lived in a house, it came with an orange tree
I owned my own orchard of one
All of my days, I checked on her branches
And made sure she got enough sun

She gave me rewards, fruit by the buckets
How rich of a poor man am I?
As I haul all my fruit to my neighbors
I thank the Lord for what is mine

The years keep on passing, and she keeps on giving
Living to her name that's been graced
As I lug all my fruits to my lover
It seems that she added more weight

When I'm not looking, she'll drop a few rocks in
She started with just a small few
I tell her goodbye, but find myself dozing
I need time to rest and recoup

She loves when I sleep in her shape, in her shadow
She sees that her weight made me sick
That's how she decided more rocks and less fruit
Would keep me from going away
