"Limbo" was the third track released from Royal Blood's album "Typhoons". The band told fans about the song, "We can't wait to invite you this far down the rabbit hole with us." Discussing the song they also said, "It is without a doubt the most ambitious and wildest we have allowed ourselves to be and we can't wait to invite you this far down the rabbit hole with us."

Royal Blood posted a preview of the song on Twitter on the 19th of March 2021 with the message, "Limbo is about being sick and tired of being sick and tired. Being bored of my own behaviour and the psychological crisis of being utterly lost."

Speaking to Annie Mac on Radio 1, frontman Mike Kerr said about "Limbo" released on the 26th of March 2021, "This is kind of the track where I feel like we let loose the most, and went as we felt we could with this concept and this sound. We just felt completely unleashed. It was another song that was made during lockdown. It didn't even start as a Royal Blood song; it just started off as something, whatever it was, and then before we knew it, it just turned into this five minute kind of epic. I'm so glad that it's a single, and it's one of my favourites for sure."
