"Apple Tree" lyrics

"Apple Tree"

I started as an apple tree
Rooted in the soil
My first love came to bury me
I was a seed once more

There was no light I couldn't see
Then I felt the waters gush
I used that rain to start again
And moved towards the sun

I peered above the broken soil
Like a baby from the womb
I learned to love this world again
For the beauty of the bloom bloom

But seasons changed
I thought I grew
Ready for the one
I showed my roots but halved my truths
Which blocked me from the sun

I thought I'd leave this pretty world
And say goodbye for good
I'd probably lead a better life
If I were firewood

But something said you can't give up
There's more for you to do
And just like that I changed my act
The skies returned to blue

And now I see each colour true
The sunlight on my leaves
My branches dance a second chance
I thought I'd never know

And now it's time to grow

I started as an apple tree
Rooted in the soil
