This is the story of a girl named Val
And how she found her Big Voice!
Act One: Val Gets Mad
Val was a kid just like you
And Val, she had lots of feelings, like most kids do
But as hard as she tried, and she tried, to express her big feelings inside
She always got tongue-tied
Now Val went out walking one day
Suddenly a mighty wind came and blew her favorite hat away
Val felt an anger so strong
At the wind who had done her this wrong

They need more than a sigh or a squeal

Act Two: Val Gets Sad
Now Val wasn't mad anymore
But of course she wasn't quite as warm as she'd been before
She thought of her hat on its own
Oh where had her poor hat been blown?
She sang a new song, as she walked all alone:

Oh favorite hat, I miss you so!

Val sang till her sadness had passed
Proud that she had found a way to express herself at last
A breeze started blowing and then
The wind brought her hat back again!
