"On The Line" lyrics

"On The Line"

I know that we need to talk
Maybe we should take a walk round here
I know you've got things on your mind
I'm sorry I don't take the time to care
You say you want things to change
But they just stay the same, yeah

It's not in your head, there's something in the air
And when we disconnect, I still feel you there

Could you love me (Love me) one more time?
Could you put it all (Put it all) on the line?
Patch it up, I think we'll be fine

The disconnect was always there
The stars we share our death
Do you see where I'm coming from?
I guess you went and got it wrong again
We come to a fork in the road
Don't know which way we wanna go, dead end

It's not in your head, there's something in the air
And when we disconnect, I still feel you there

Could you love me (Love me) one more time?
Could you put it all (Put it all) on the line?
And I try and I try and I try
And I try and I try and I

Don't know how to let go
When this is all that I've known
And our friends say we should move on
Too broken to fix
But I don't wanna give up on this
When our love's on the line

Could you love me (Love me) one more time?
Could you put it all (Put it all) on the line?
Patch it up, I think we'll be fine
'Cause I try and I try and I try
And I try and I try and I
Could you love me (Love me) one more time?
Could you put it all (Put it all) on the line?

And I try and I try and I try
And I try and I try and I try
And I try and I try and I try
And I try and I try and I

And I try and I try and I try
And I try and I try and I
And I try and I try and I try
And I try and I try and I

"On the Line" is the first taste of San Cisco's fourth album. Jordi Davieson explained, "Like many of the songs from our forthcoming record, 'On the Line' has been through many different stages. It almost didn't make it on the record. It wasn't until we revisited it at home from a different angle that everything fell into place and it turned into a gem. We all connect deeply with this song and its sentiment and we think others will too."
The music video for this track, published on the 20th of May 2020, was filmed in Western Australia. Jordi Davieson said about it, "It was such a fun day of filming with a great crew. We were super excited to be able to come out of isolation and join together as a band for the first time in months to shoot this video." The video premiered on Triple J.
