"The Rainbow Room" lyrics

(Aah, aah)
(Aah, aah)

In the Rainbow Room, having dinner with you
At the Rockefeller Plaza, it was 1982
We were eating shrimp cocktails and looking at the view
In the Rainbow Room, I was looking at you
In the Rainbow Room
Dancing with you, looking at the Twin Towers
And it was starting to snow
Looking at a future we didn't want to know

In the Rainbow Room
Looking out at the view (looking out at the view)
In the Rainbow Room
Looking out at the view
Imagine us falling
Falling into the blue
In the Rainbow Room
Looking out at the view
Imagine us falling
As I was falling for you

We could see tomorrow (ooh), it was falling at our feet
And stretching out for miles (ooh), but I just wanted to eat
So give me a margarita (ooh)
We're looking at the winter sun as it sets on the horizon (ooh)
I hope that you are the one
Will you have the steak?
And will you have the fries?
It doesn't really matter
When I'm looking in your eyes

And so it's goodbye (and so it's goodbye)
As we look to the sky (look to the sky)
The snow is falling right now (snow is falling)
And I'm trying not to cry (trying not to cry)

In the Rainbow Room (in the Rainbow Room)
Looking out at the view (looking at the view)
Imagine us falling (imagine us fall)
Falling into the blue (ooh)
In the Rainbow Room (in the Rainbow Room)
Looking out at the view (looking at the view)
Imagine us falling (imagine us fall)
Like I was falling for you (falling for you)

The future is calling (ooh)
And falling at our feet (oh, ooh)
So let's make a plan (ooh)
For the next time we meet (oh, ooh)
We can meet again (ooh)
When we're older and wise (ooh)
In the next century (ooh)
And we'll look out at the skies (ooh, ooh)

In the Rainbow Room, having dinner with you
In the Rainbow Room (in the Rainbow Room)
1982, staring at the Twin Towers (in the Rainbow Room)
Looking out at the view (just looking at you)
(In the Rainbow Room) as I was falling for you
(Looking out at the view)

(Aah, aah)
(Ah, aah)
(Ah, aah)
(In the Rainbow Room)
(Ah, aah) Looking out at the view
(Imagine us falling)
(Falling into the blue)
(In the Rainbow Room)
(Looking out at the view)
(Imagine us falling)
(As I was falling again)
