"Especially You" is the second single from Wallows's second studio album, "Tell Me That It's Over". The song was premiered on February 3, 2022, accompanied by a music video directed by Jason Lester.

Speaking with fans during this song's video premiere and live stream, the band shared that "Especially You" was in the works from 2019 and Dylan Minnette wrote "the main stuff pretty quickly, it was like 15 minutes".

"It's about when you're in the early stages of a relationship and you get so worried that the other person's mind will change at the flip of a switch," vocalist Dylan Minnette said in a statement about the meaning behind this single. "It's about stressing over the smallest things for no reason, but it's definitely self-aware about the fact that I'm doing this all to myself."
