"The Bricklayers Song" lyrics

We love to work all day
Laying bricks the bricky way
We can sing our bricklaying song
Working out in the sun
(That's the way our work gets done)
We can sing our bricklaying song

Get some water and get some sand
Time to grab a shovel and put it in your hand
Help your friend to build the house just right
We can sing our bricklaying song

We love to work all day
Laying bricks the bricky way
We can sing our bricklaying song
Working out in the sun
(That's the way our work gets done)
We can sing our bricklaying song

(One brick) Started on its own
(Two bricks) We're building up a home
(Three bricks) The first wall's on its way
(Four bricks) Now it's getting higher
(Five bricks) Up into the sky-a
(Six bricks) We build our wall all day
(Seven bricks) Time to add some water
(Eight bricks) Now we're making mortar
(Nine bricks) It helps the bricks to stay
(Ten bricks) A lovely golden brown
(Eleven bricks) Hope they don't fall down
(Twelve bricks) Doing it the bricky's way
