"You Shook Me All Night Long" lyrics

"You Shook Me All Night Long"
(from "Who Made Who" soundtrack)

She was a fast machine, she kept her motor clean
She was the best damn woman that I ever seen
She had the sightless eyes, telling me no lies
Knocking me out with those American thighs
Taking more than her share, had me fighting for air
She told me to come, but I was already there
'Cause the walls start shaking, the Earth was quaking
My mind was aching, and we were making it

And you shook me all night long
Yeah, you shook me all night long

Working double-time on the seduction line
She's one of a kind, she's just a-mine all mine
Wanted no applause, just another course
Made a meal outta me, and come back for more
Had to cool me down to take another round
Now, I'm back in the ring to take another swing
That the walls were shaking, the Earth was quaking
My mind was aching, and we were making it

And you shook me all night long
Yeah, you shook me all night long
It knocked me out that
You shook me all night long
It had me shaking
And you shook me all night long
Yeah, you shook me
Well, you took me

You really took me and
You shook me all night long
Ah, you shook me all night long
Yeah, yeah, you shook me all night long
You really got me and you, shook me all night long
Yeah, you shook me
Yeah, you shook me
All night long

Writer(s): Malcolm Young, Angus Young, Brian Johnson
This song was the lead single off of the album "Back in Black", and it is one of AC/DC's most famous songs. It was also included in the soundtrack album "Who Made Who" for the film "Maximum Overdrive" (1986) directed by Stephen King. AC/DC is his favourite band.
Brian Johnson admitted in an interview for USA Weekend that this song is the band's most personal for him and explained, "It was the first song I wrote with the guys, and it has a special groovy beat that won't let you go. It has such a special place in my heart, and I still love to sing it on stage. To me, it might be one of the best rock songs ever written - if I do say so myself."
The line "She was a fast machine, she kept her motor clean" of this song was penned by Brian Johnson, who thought that cars and women were alike: they come fast in men's lives, then leave them broken, and men begin to look for a new model.
There were released four live versions of this song, one of them featured in the soundtrack for the film "Private Parts" (1997), a biographical comedy based on the book of the same title by Howard Stern.
Shania Twain performed this song on her "Up! Close And Personal" TV special. Her then-husband, Mutt Lange, produced "Back In Black".
Celine Dion covered this song together with Anastacia at a VH1 Divas Las Vegas concert in 2002. The Total Guitar magazine had a poll in 2008, and this cover was chosen as the worst ever.
