This song was written in the studio when The Beatles had a little party with their friends. They just decided to make a song up on the spot. Paul McCartney came up with a riff and most of the lyrics which were built around the riff.

During the recording session of this song, The Beatles had a break to watch the rock 'n' roll film "The Girl Can't Help It" (1956) at Paul McCartney's house. Somewhat inspired by the film they completed the recording afterwards.

This song's chorus was sung by Pattie Harrison and Yoko Ono on backing vocals.

Paul Weller made a cover of this song to celebrate Paul McCartney's 70th birthday on the 18th of June 2012. The cover was available for download for one day only, and it reached number 64 position in the UK Singles chart. The money from sales were donated to the charity.
