For 250 years, this country has celebrated its independence and freedom, and I intend to do the same
I will no longer feel ashamed to love this country, like if I don't bow to a politician, I haven't earned the right to feel patriotic or stifle my own pride for this country and my desire to want to see it to be better for the generations to come after us
I will wear these colors without fear of people, people assuming that I condone the cruelty we're seeing from our government while simultaneously advocating against corruption and injustice and for freedom for what I believe for this country could truly be
I will never stop making music that I believe in because this is my country music history will be told, and it will be told through art, and I want to be a part of that
