"It's Now or Never" is based on the Italian ballad "O Sole Mio".

Tony Martin's song "There's No Tomorrow" (1949), also a version of the ballad "O Sole Mio", inspired Elvis Presley's version. Presley heard Martin's recording in the late 1950s, when he stationed in Germany with the U.S. Army.
