"Let The Bad Times Roll" was the first track released from The Offspring's eponymous studio album. The band stated on Twitter on the release day, the 24th of February 2021, "We know, we know... it's been 9 years since you got your hands on a new Offspring album, but we think you've waited long enough... We are beyond thrilled to present you with our new single 'Let The Bad Times Roll!'"

According to the frontman Dexter Holland this song reflected the "ongoing challenges" the USA was facing. He explained, "I feel like we're in a unique period in history where instead of our world leaders saying, 'We're doing our best,' it's more like they're saying, 'Fuck it,' and it's really scary." Noodles added, "Folks are saying, 'If it's all going to Hell, we might as well make the most out of it, or at least go out swinging.'"
