"My Story" lyrics

"My Story"

Let me tell you my story, let me tell you my life
Let me tell you about the way I've been living
And a little bout struggle and strife
Let me tell you my story, let me tell you my life
Let me tell you about the way I've been living
And a little bout struggle and strife

I'm a country boy, a little city grammar
A little mixture of em both when you hear my grammar
My old man had them blue collar boots
They had em working in the mines, got them blue collar roots
And I was raised in a small town with big city dreams
I had a plan to make it out when I was just sixteen, but plans changed
Now that I'm older, I made my daddy proud as blue collar soldier
But I, put the shovel down to pick up the mic
And made a lane inside the industry and started a fight
Cuz I'm a warrior, success is euphoria
And I'm so notorious, for being victorious and I can't stop
All gas when I'm rolling on the blacktop
Windows down so that I can feel the raindrops
I found a way that I can live on stage
And not struggle through my life stuck on minimum wage
Come on

Let me tell you my story, let me tell you my life
Let me tell you about the way I've been living
And a little bout struggle and strife
Let me tell you my story, let me tell you my life
Let me tell you about the way I've been living
And a little bout struggle and strife

I grew up the youngest of five
My mom pop struggled to survive but we made it alive
And I was taught a lot about it at the end of the day
Finally Mama went to college and the bills were paid
But still it wasn't enough to keep my family intact
My mama moved across the state when we moved from my dad
And I was raised in the city that I'm currently at
Montana born and raised, boy I'm certainly that
And I ain't turning back to pages of time I'm just reflecting on em
A lot of bonding with my brother got my knuckles bloody
Ya cuddy, I was young and wild trying to make a reputation
Punk little kid with a knack for confrontation
I aint proud of that, but I grew out of that
Trying to make a change in the world now I'm on to that
Little bit fame, yo I never really wanted that
Now that I got it, got to find a way to give it back

Let me tell you my story, let me tell you my life
Let me tell you about the way I've been living
And a little bout struggle and strife
Let me tell you my story, let me tell you my life
Let me tell you about the way I've been living
And a little bout struggle and strife

Let me tell you my story, let me tell you my life
Let me tell you about the way I've been living
And a little bout struggle and strife
Let me tell you my story, let me tell you my life
Let me tell you about the way I've been living
And a little bout struggle and strife
