"Big Man Strong John" lyrics

My name's Big Strong John
I like to lift heavy things with the lights on
The lights give me power. Super-strength power!

Step right up, you won't believe your eyes
A big strong man in the dark, he tries
To lift his weights, but his power is gone
What he needs is the lights turned on

As Lachy mentioned in the first verse
I need the lights on for superpower. Ooh-ah!

Without the light, my power is gone
How can it be? My strength is all gone
Does anyone have a light to shine?
A torch or a wand, now is the time

Like Popeye without his spinach
Or Samson without his hair
Without light, I can't lift anything anywhere

So everyone, shine your lights in the air
Show Big Strong John that you care

There he is now, look at his form
The power of lights helps him perform
Like Samson with his mullet of hair
John needs the lights, so his muscles are there

Shine, shine, shine a light
Shine, shine, shine a light
This is incredible! I've got my power back
Thank you so much. Yoo-hoo!

Look at him now, Mr Twinkle Toes
Where the light shines, John goes
Lights up, lights on
Big Man Strong John
John!
