"While We Didn't Last" lyrics

We were so good while we didn't last
But now we're even better looking back

Yeah, we were the best we ever had
Like a dream that we both woke up from too fast
We laughed, we cried, and we felt that we died
The day that we lost you and me

It's like we lived a thousand lives that summer, but we didn't
Magic like a movie made about us, but we lived it
Hard as we could, harder than two human hearts ever should

We were so good while we didn't last
But now we're even better looking back
We were the heartbreak love never should have had
We were so good while we didn't last
So good, so good

It's crazy how much I think about you
Somehow, I know you do too
Things change, but they don't
And they could, but they won't
'Cause I still cannot forget about you

I fall asleep and swear your head is right there on my shoulder
No, it isn't real, but it feels like we're even closer
Just because it ended don't mean it's over

We were so good while we didn't last
But now we're even better looking back
We were the heartbreak love never should have had
We were so good while we didn't last
So good, so good

We were so good while we didn't last
But now we're even better looking back
We were the heartbreak love never should have had
We were so good while we didn't last
So good, so good
